Dear God

8 year old me...
Dear God,
Please bless my Mom and my Dad and my sisters and my cat Mocha. Please help me have friends and be pretty when I get older.
God, is it true that when people die they go bowling and that is what we hear during a thunderstorm? You are lucky God because you get to live with people that have died and still get to watch over people that are alive.

13 year old me...
Dear God,
Soon I will make my confirmation. I guess I never thought much about being Catholic until now. My Grandmother picked my confirmation name which is Faustina the saint of divine mercy. I do not even know what divine mercy means but my grandmother does her rosary everyday so I bet she did well by me picking this name. Also God, my friend Sandra has been telling me for 2 years that it is a waist for Fr. Michael to be a priest. I did not know what she meant by that until she said he can not get married and a good looking man like Fr. Michael should get to have babies and marry a beautiful woman. My dad said he married God instead.

18 year old me...
Dear God,
My father has cancer.... I keep saying the word over in my head. I keep wondering how one word can change my entire life forever. My Mom said it is terminal but I think she is wrong. My Dad has to get better. Please God let him get better. I promise I will do anything you want me to if you make him better. Don't take my father away from me...

19 year old me...
Dear God,
I hate you

23 year old me
Dear God,
How am I going to survive a life without a man I have grown to love so much. He is all I know now and he is gone. How did this happen? He told me he loved me but he broke my heart anyway. He asked me to marry him and now he has told me it's over. Dear dear God please give me the strength to get through this.

29 year old me
Dear God,
I feel so close to you by the ocean. Tomorrow I will make Keir my husband and I know you and my Dad will be there to watch over me. Thank you for being the sunset that I am watching right now, the wind I am breathing and the sand my feet are buried in. Thank you lord for all the blessings of my life.

30 year old me...
Dear God,
watch over my son as I baptize him. Give him strength when times are hard. Watch over him when, as his mother, I can not. Be the hands that hold him the eyes that watch him and the love that protects my sweet baby boy.
