Pregnancy Journal - Week 13

Dear Baby,

You have survived the 12 week ultrasound, your first road trip to Vermont and your first Christmas!! This time next year you will be 5 months old! Let me tell you all about the holidays....

You got lots of presents including a puppy book from Auntie sandy, Red Sox gear from Auntie Tera and a very special blanket from Nana. Your Dad and I hung up a stocking for you (do not worry we will fill it next year) and we talked all about you on Christmas morning and how different things would be after you arrived.

I gained 4 lbs. at my appointment and the Doctor yelled at me ( I am blaming you for this). I crave things like eggs Benedict that I can not eat while I am growing you inside me. I have a 100% aversion to chicken and I love things like cheese, apples and the always popular PIZZA (hence the 4 lbs...)

You are very busy on my bladder these days. I constantly feel as if I might pee my pants, then when I go barley anything comes out. I imagine you using my bladder as your own trampoline. When your Dad and I saw you at the 12 week ultrasound you had big ears and busy legs.... I wonder where you get these from (not me...) You were dancing about in my uterus and the Doctor said you looked healthy. I was so relieved to hear this. Your heart rate at the Doctor's was 140 (which hints you are a boy) but the following day in the ultrasound is was 152 (which hints you are a girl.) I am so anxious to know what you are.... 4 more weeks until the big reveal (assuming you cooperate.) The ultrasound tech said you measured almost a full week ahead which is what we were told at the 5 and 8 week ultrasound (you are so advanced) so maybe you will arrive early...

Keep us guessing, grow strong and be well.
All my love,
Mom
