I Will Call You Cookie

Just days after the big announcement that I was expecting, my baby sister had nicknamed my baby Munchkin. Before even I knew that a baby had started to grow Tera was stuffing my mouth with munchkins after I told her I did not want any.... turns out she was already feeding her niece or nephew.... A few weeks later my other sister started to call the little embryo Stoner... (nickname self explanatory.)



For many weeks I just called the baby an embryo. Now that it has graduated into a fetus and I have begun to feel the flutters in my belly I have felt this sense of obligation to name my baby with it's very own nickname. In just a few weeks we will know the gender and little nicknames will not be quite as necessary but I think nicknames are important and so in the car and during quite moments I have tried to think of the perfect name for the defiant little dream come true growing inside me... this is what I came up with.



When My husband's and I first 'baby' came into our life (our dog Wilson) I called his puppy treats that he freaked for a cookie. I had many words i could have used, such as treats or biscuits but for some reason I adopted the word cookie. Wilson got a cookie whenever he house trained correctly or performed a trick I taught him. As he got older and grew out of many of his puppy ways one thing stayed consistent and that was his love for cookies. Wilson can be asleep across the room and I will whisper the word cookie and his eyes will open wide and his ears will stand straight up in the air.



Recently Keir and I have begun to call our own treats cookies. Weather it be the ice cream we are craving or a few strings of twizzlers. When someone says cookie in our house we know something sweet and desirable is to follow....



Well my baby is desirable and i can only hope will be sweet. When I think about seeing my baby I think of the face Wilson makes when he thinks a cookie is in his future, the excitement.... So I will call my little growing human being Cookie....

Cookie seems just perfect for the newest addition to our family....
